L'Aquatique (talk · contribs) Okay, so I've been around, about, say, a year and a half, worked with tons of projects, and I'm beginning to run into situations where it would be very helpful to have admin tools (i.e. coming across clearly copyrighted images that should be deleted asap, trying to Create Accounts that are too similar to existing but inactive accounts, etc). I'm listed at Admin Coaching, but there seems to be a shortage of coaches so I figured I'd put myself up for review here to get an idea of how an RfA might go over.
These are my main projects recently:

  • WikiProject South Park: I've been slowly copyediting, adding material, fixing up pictures, etc. For some examples, see: 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
  • WikiProject Stub Sort: I've been helping to clear this backlog, and during the time I worked on it, it went from over 1,000 articles to an average of ten to twenty. Obviously, this wasn't all me, but I certainly helped. While stub sorting, I often copyedit, cleanup, and tag articles. Here's an example: 1.
  • Wikipedia:WikiProject Accessibility: I've done quite a bit of work with this project, including helping to found it. You can take a look at the project page and read the talk to get an idea of what I've done.
  • Graphics Lab: When I'm feeling creative, I'll drop by the Graphics Lab and do some photoshop work. Here are some examples of my work: 1, 2, 3.
  • Wikipedia Ads: I've created several animated gifs for use as ads to raise awareness for various projects, you can see them here.
  • I am an active member of the Account Creation Team, a list of accounts I have created can be found here.
  • I have Rollback permissions and do some vandalism fighting, xfd, etc work.

You seem to be doing very well, I found nothing really to criticize you on with what you are doing right now. For RFA however you might not have the depth of experience in admin related areas !voters like to see. As far as I could tell from your contributions you have never made a submission to WP:RFPP and 5 reports to WP:AIV is not very much, your comments on XFD's have seemed well reasoned and in line with policy but there have only been 7 of them and it does not look like you have you done any CSD work, have you? I can't see deleted contribs but I see no CSD warnings. I also did not find any extensive history of mainspace work, which !voters like to see, but this might just be because I did not go through them thoroughly enough (feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

I would recommend that you go through with admin coaching, that just might be the perfect thing for you at this time. But, similar candidates to you have passed RFA before so if you feel that you do want to try RFA now I extend to you an offer of nomination (if you do not already have one), your chances are not insignificant and if it does turn out to be unsuccessful, well, a failed RFA is a great learning experience. -Icewedge (talk) 16:56, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's always nice to see a fellow Alaskan Wikipedian around. :-) As for your contribs, they're really not bad. I do concur with Icewedge, however, in that you should become more active in maintenance tasks if you're interested in being an admin. I would suggest about, say, three months more experience, provided you become active in RCP, CSD, PROD, RFPP, AIV and the like, until you'd do a great job in RfA, if you chose to do so. Until then, best of luck! --Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 18:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you remember me, but I do remember you. You have always impressed me as a capable and reasonable editor. If you have suspicions that you might be a bit unprepared for some admin functions, it might well be a good idea to take part in admin coaching, just to get a feel for those functions. Otherwise, for matters such as temperment and conduct, I have no reservations about your performance to date or in the future. John Carter (talk) 01:41, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I think the work I am most proud of has been my work with a particular editor, see here 1 and here 2.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Well, I have a tendency to make snap judgements, something I am working on. I have been much, much better at this lately. I think the most recent conflict I've been in was this: 1.
  NODES
admin 7
Idea 3
idea 3
Note 1
Project 9
