Original – Machu Picchu taken by Hiram Bingham III in 1912 after major clearing work had been undertaken.

Reason: This is one of the first images taken at Machu Picchu during the Yale Peruvian Expedition of 1912, following the clearing work. It may be the first published photo of the classic view of Machu Picchu.
