In spite of many new topics, the top spot is retaken by a subject beloved in India.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Indian Premier League   4,296,976   Despite not being the article for this year's edition of the league, more people seem to land on this article than #4. Maybe more people are googling "IPL" instead of "2024 IPL".
Fallout (American TV series)   2,046,367   Another post-apocalyptic drama based on a video game franchise (#6), albeit unlike The Last of Us it was a streaming release, namely Prime Video, and had all its episodes coming out at once. Fallout quickly shot up the streamer's viewer charts, receiving attention from video gamers, science fiction lovers, and even regular users who just came across it as well, and added to critical acclaim, it was renewed for a second season last Thursday. Walton Goggins (pictured) stars as Cooper Howard, a once famous actor turned ghoul.
Scottie Scheffler   1,395,121   This American golfer has been ranked World Number One since May 2023, and he shot eleven-under-par to win the Masters Tournament (his second) from April 11–14.
2024 Indian Premier League   1,393,394   Last week kicked off with the league's biggest rivalry and saw four centuries, including one in said match and another in the match that saw the new highest score posted by a team in the league's history. Meanwhile, the 42-year old former India captain MS Dhoni delighted fans with a couple of blitzes, and his arrivals at the crease continue to be met with vocal support from fans, though sometimes they seem to get too loud.
The Tortured Poets Department   1,271,383   At the Grammy Awards in February, #21 announced her 11th studio album would release soon. This set off the largest pre-order in American _target stores' history. Its release on April 19 surpassed Midnights' 2022 release on Spotify for highest single-day album streams, and it sold 1.4 million copies in the U.S. on the first day. Critical reception has been mostly positive. The album is a double album, pairing with The Anthology, which was released a few hours later.
Fallout (series)   1,242,002   As the American web series adaption (#2) was released to generally favorable reviews and has been renewed for a second season, people are giving some attention to the source material, an RPG series set in a world ravaged by a nuclear war, featuring robots, mutants, and a general 1950s aesthetic (including in the soundtrack!).
2024 Indian general election   1,224,156   With roughly 970 million eligible voters, the world's biggest election, spread over seven phases and 44 days, commenced in India on Friday. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power for the last ten years, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking to return for a third term. Up against them is the creatively named Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance aka INDIA alliance, a coalition of parties that are united (mostly) in their attempt to defeat the BJP.
Amar Singh Chamkila   1,213,979   In March 1988, this Indian singer, his wife, and two bandmates were shot and killed as they were exiting a van by unknown assailants. No arrests have been made in the unsolved case. The biopic film, released on Netflix on April 12, was written and directed by Imtiaz Ali (pictured).
Civil War (film)   1,052,524   Alex Garland wrote and directed a movie where the United States are instead divided in a conflict, and two journalists played by Kirsten Dunst and Wagner Moura, plus an aspiring photographer played by Cailee Spaeny, try to reach the White House and interview the President before he's killed by opposing forces. On their journey, many brutal and senseless people make true of Axl Rose's quotation of "What's so civil 'bout war anyway?". Critics and audiences alike were impressed by Civil War, that opened atop the box office and should soon recoup its modest $50 million budget.
Richard Gadd   1,040,690 The Scottish writer, actor and comedian created and starred in #16, adapted from a one-man show and based on his experiences of being stalked and sexually assaulted.
Jennifer Pan   981,203   The Netflix true crime documentary What Jennifer Did, about this woman who hired hitmen to have her parents killed, resulting in the death of her mother and injury of her father, has brought views towards her article, and the show also caught the attention of some news sources for probable use of AI-generated images.
Deaths in 2024   973,889   I'm getting tired even for a phoenix
Always risin' from the ashes
Mendin' all her gashes
You might just have dealt the final blow
O. J. Simpson   909,689   The recent death of this infamous American football player, actor and criminal continued to gather views in the weeks after its announcement.
UEFA Champions League   866,116   The 69th season of Europe's premier football tournament completed the knockout phase of the quarterfinals on April 16 and 17. The first leg of the semis begin at the end of the month. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid remain in contention.
Ella Purnell   793,675   The English actress stars in #2 as Lucy MacLean, a young Vault Dweller who leaves her fallout shelter seeking her kidnapped father in the Wastelands that used to be California.
Baby Reindeer   755,600   Premiering on Netflix on April 11, the show was created, written and starred in by #10.
Shōgun (2024 miniseries)   688,998   The American Historical drama based on the 1975 novel is set to air its finale next week.
UFC 300   687,204   In the main event on April 13, light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira retained his title, knocking out challenger Jamahal Hill with a left hook in the first round.
Candidates Tournament 2024   673,190   This eight-player chess tournament to determine the challenger for this year's World Chess Championship was held throughout the month of April, with Indian chess grandmaster Gukesh D (pictured) coming out on top and securing his spot in the final championship, where he will be competing against Ding Liren, the highest rated Chinese chess player of all time.
Mandisa   611,633   The gospel and contemporary Christian singer, who began her career as a contestant on American Idol, died on April 18, aged 47.
Taylor Swift   607,210   The singer-songwriter released her eleventh studio album (#5) on April 19, a collection of 16 songs with featured appearances from Post Malone and Florence Welch. Two hours later, after several hints around the number 2, she surprise-released a second side of the album containing 15 more songs.
2024 Iranian strikes in Israel   603,823   Benjamin Netanyahu is a stubborn man who still hasn't stopped the Israel–Hamas war as it enters its sixth month. But with the international attention on Gaza, many forgot that rockets have also been fired at Syria in retaliation to Hezbollah taking advantage of the war to do their own strikes on Israel. One Israeli rocket hit the Iranian embassy in Damascus, and Iran didn't take it too well, leading to the launch of missiles and drones that were mostly shot down before impact, but still caused some damage in two airbases and injured 31 Israelis. Israel's responsive airstrikes have been limited, and everyone hopes the conflict doesn't escalate.
Billy Joel   601,423   In June 2023, this New York City native announced his performance residency with Madison Square Garden would end in July 2024, with his 150th performance at the venue. On April 14, CBS aired a special commemorating his 100th at MSG.
Max Holloway   597,896   At #18, Holloway knocked out UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in the last second of the fifth and final round.
Iran   593,118   Instead of discussing the top pick at the WNBA draft, a movie about a vampire child, and the other, better known, Premier League, we need to delve deeper into #22. The land of the Persians has had tense relations with Israel, highlighted by Israel being a fierce opposer of the nuclear program of Iran while Iran helps militias that fight the Zionist state. Iran's closeness with Russia, that includes providing weaponry to the other conflict that doesn't end, are a big factor in why everyone fears the 2024 Iran–Israel conflict escalating (#2 opens right away with a reminder that few things would be as bad as World War III).
