Croeso! – Welcome!
a dual language national contest/editathon aimed at improving the quality and quantity of Welsh coverage...
Core articleseditMissing articleseditParticipants are free to start any article of their fancy which is related to Wales and meets Wikipedia:Notability requirement. New articles must be minimum 1.5 kilobytes of readable prose to be viable for points in the competition, Extra points will be given to those editors who start an article listed on the missing article hotlist, which will identify batches of articles which are in high demand to be started, such as listed buildings, biographies of notable men and women, etc. Editors can also view banks of missing articles in the general missing article list, which list any missing articles, rather than just the ones we are desperate for. PhotographseditExtra points can be gained by editors for taking and uploading photographs on the Missing photograph hotlist. If you create a new article during the editathon, don't forget to add {{image requested|in=Wales}} to the article Talk page if it doesn't have an image. Resources for editingeditEditors may find the following resources useful:
Women biographieseditAwaken the Dragon has formed a partnership with WikiProject Women in Red, a project dedicated to starting missing articles on women. Special consideration will be given to those editors who contribute articles about Welsh women. The book 100 Great Welsh Women was awarded to Penny Richards after the first contest for her prolific work. Our Featured and Good articlesedit

ParticipantseditNew/improved articleseditThe articles created from February to early May have now been archived to the main article improvements and creations list. The focus for May and June was Anglesey and Gwynedd, which produced further articles. We had 1126 article improvements and creations before merging with Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge in late August 2016. When the next Dragon contest runs entries will be listed here again from the contest, but if continuing to work on articles in between please add them to the 10,000 Challenge list. |
