editThe object önt (“you”, formal) or önöket (“you”, formal, plural) is implied. The informal counterpart is üdvözöllek (literally “I greet you”). On behalf of multiple people, the form üdvözöljük (literally “we greet you”) may be used with a formal tone and üdvözlünk with an informal tone (the former implies önt or önöket, while the latter, téged (“you”, informal) or titeket (“you”, informal, plural)).
