θα

Greek
editEtymology
editFrom a contraction of θέλω να (thélo na, “I wish that I may”). See the same development of the Albanian future tense with do të (“I will”), from the contraction of the old form of the verb "dua të"; for ex. "do të [shkoj]" (I will [go]) < "duo të [shkoj]" (I want to [go]), with accent shift.
