From a composition of Proto-Turkic stems *bilek (forearm) + *yüŕük (ring). Cognate with Kazakh білезік (bılezık), Kyrgyz билерик (bilerik), билезик (bilezik), билездик (bilezdik), Crimean Tatar bilezlik, Krymchak былезык, Kumyk билезик (bilezik), Bashkir беләҙек (beləźek), Azerbaijani bilərzik, Turkish bilezik, Turkmen bilezik, Uzbek bilaguzuk, Tuvan билзек (bilzek, ring), Yakut биһилэх (bihileq, fingerring), etc.
