From Proto-Permic *käć, probably borrowed from Bulgar [Term?], ulitmately from Proto-Turkic *keči (goat). Compare Tatar кәҗә (käcä), Bashkir кәзә (kəzə) and Chuvash кач (kač). Cognates include Komi-Zyrian кӧч (köć) and Komi-Permyak кӧч (köć).
