Etymology

The root is բոյծ- (boyc-), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰewg- (to enjoy), +‎ -ան- (-an-); cognates include Sanskrit भुज् (bhuj-, to enjoy, to eat), Khotanese [script needed] (būjsana-, feasting), Latin fungor.[1][2][3] Related to բուտ (but).
