  1. (intransitive) To dry, to dry out: to become dry.
    הבגדים מתייבשים.hab'gadím mityabshím.The clothes are drying.

Usage notes

  • Unlike English dry, Hebrew הִתְיַבֵּשׁ is specifically used when a person or thing is becoming dry on its own. When one person or thing is drying another, the related transitive verb ייבש / יִבֵּשׁ (yibésh) is used.
