ס־ג־ס־ג (s-g-s-g) |
From the root ס־ג־ס־ג (s-g-s-g). Like the noun סגסוגת (sagsóget, “alloy”), from סיג (sig, “dross, base metal”) through reduplication[1], in turn derived from סוג (sug, “kind, class”)[2], with original verbal meaning of "to turn away, reject" as well as "to hem in, bind, fence in".[3][4]. See also: סייג (siyég, “to enclose, fence in”).
