    • 10th Century CE, Firdawsī, Šāhnāma:
      سیاوش چو او را پیاده بدید
      فرود آمد از اسب و پیشش دوید
      siyāwuš ču ō-rā piyāda bidīd
      furūd āmad az asp u pēšaš dawīd
      As Siavash saw him on foot
      dismounted his horse and ran towards him
