Etymology

From African dialectal Arabic رَجِينَة (rajīna, “resin”), from Latin rēsīna (“resin”), ultimately from Ancient Greek ῥητίνη (rhētínē, “resin”). Doublet of راتینج (ratinec, “turpentine; resin”).

Noun

رچینه • (reçine) (definite accusative رچینه‌یی (reçineyi), plural رچینه‌لر (reçineler))

1. resin, gum, a highly viscous secretion of many plants, particularly coniferous trees

   Synonyms: راتینج (ratinec), ساقز (sakız)

2. rosin, colophony, a solid form of resin, obtained by vaporizing its volatile components
