Relative noun (nisba) composed of قَمَر (qamar, moon) +‎ ـِيَّة (-iyya), like شَمْسِيَّة (šamsiyya, parasol), فِسْقِيَّة (fisqiyya, fountain), حَنَفِيَّة (ḥanafiyya, faucet, spigot), due to its letting through less light than a regular window designed to pass sun-light.
