editTool noun from كَنَسَ (kanasa, “to sweep”) from the root ك ن س (k-n-s). According to Fraenkel faux-Arabic from Classical Syriac ܡܰܟܢܫܰܬܳܐ (maḵnaštā), كَنَسَ (kanasa, “to sweep”) being denominal. Also Mehri məkənsēt (“broom, besom”).
