Borrowed from Classical Persian طاقت (tāqat, stamina, endurance), from Arabic طَاقَة (ṭāqa). Compare Gujarati તાકત (tākat), Hindi ताक़त (tāqat), Kannada ತಾಕತ್ತು (tākattu), Punjabi ਤਾਕਤ (tākat) / طاقت (t̤āqt).
