From Sanskrit स्नेह (sneha, affection; affection; etc); possibly via Old Khmer snehā (idem). Cognate with Thai เสน่ห์ (sà-nèe). Compare Pali sineha, from which Thai สิเน่หา and its alternative forms are derived.
