Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (wɑ⁵³ "fat (of people)"). Luce gives Old Chinese 肥 (OC *bɯl, “fat”) as a cognate;[1] STEDT assigns the Chinese to Proto-Sino-Tibetan *bu(r) (“fat, fatty meat”). If the Burmese is related, a bunch of sound laws would have to be figured out.”
