From Old Khmer ក្តិ (kti) or Angkorian Old Khmer គតិ (gati, matter, affair, case; legal matter, affair, or case; etc); ultimately from Sanskrit गति (gati, movement; progress, proceeding; etc). Doublet of គតិ (kĕəʼteʼ).
