From 有り (ari, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, continuative) and 終止形 (shūshikei, terminal) forms of classical verb 有り (ari), “to exist) +‎ 明け (ake, the 未然形 (mizenkei, incomplete) and 連用形 (ren'yōkei, continuative) forms of classical verb 明く (aku), “to open → to dawn). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
