Old Norse īn-stem nouns.
These nouns are feminine, typically with the following endings:
- in the nominative singular: -i;
- in the genitive singular: -i;
- in the nominative plural: unattested.
The stem classes are named from the perspective of Proto-Germanic and may not still be visible in Old Norse inflections. The stem has i-umlaut throughout.
