Reconstruction:Proto-Turkic/torgay
Proto-Turkic
editEtymology
editIf the suffix *-gay also used in *kïrguy, then possibly derived from unknown unattested root Proto-Turkic *tor-, which makes it comparable to Proto-Tungusic *turākī (“raven, crow”). ( compare Evenki тураки (turaki, “turaki”)). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
