I found an example of dufe, though it's in a compound noun and there it's fayed to "doppa" to make the word "pelican". http://www.bosworthtoller.com/008090 Blodcyning (talk) 06:41, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- I believe you're referring to dūfedoppa (“pelican”), however, I believe the *dūfe in this word relates to diving (cf. Old English dūfan (“to dive”)) rather than to a "dove" Leasnam (talk) 23:33, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
