edit@Fay Freak कटुकफल (kaṭukaphala) (nom. sg. कटुकफलम् (kaṭukaphalam)) probably has no connection. It's a transparent compound कटुक (kaṭuka, “pungent, bitter”) + फल (phala, “fruit”), and I can't find any descendants (indeed, in Monier-Williams it is marked with "L.", meaning it is only attested in dictionaries and not in text).
