Military use of "culmination"

edit

In the current war where Russia invaded Ukraine, we hear the term "culmination" frequently, but that sense is missing in this word entry in Wiktionary.

Here is just one example, from yesterday's news: As Battle of Bakhmut nears culmination, Ukraine’s artillery gasps for more ammo. The article prose speaks of "cumination" or "culminating" ~9 times, and helpfully provides a specific definition: "U.S. military doctrine defines culmination as the ‘point at which a force no longer has the capability to continue its form of operations, offense or defense’,” the ISW said on Dec. 29."

Seems this sense ought to be added here. Cheers. N2e (talk) 05:13, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
