Listed for "bad" as both verb adjective and noun. Is the noun real? Equinox 13:56, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Delete. The noun sense was added by an inexperienced contributor. A minute later, (s)he added the adjective section. I'm guessing that (s)he added the noun sense without realizing it, then added the adjective section once (s)he realized his/her mistake. Informer?

Can it mean "informer"? In the Simpsons episode Bart Sells His Soul, Bart exclaims "You shank! How could you tell on me?" to somebody who snitched on him. Equinox ◑ 10:35, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

to despatch unceremoniously

Chambers 1908 has a transitive verb sense "(Scottish) to despatch unceremoniously". I suppose this probably means to kill, so might conceivably be related to our sense of stabbing? Equinox ◑ 03:51, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
