Translations for the 1189 meaning
editIs it really expected that other languages will have a specific word for "prior to 6 July 1189"? Is that the real meaning of the Finnish expression currently shown? It seems to me that for most countries and most languages there shouldn't be anything in this slot. I imagine it might be possible to find equivalent phrases in English legal documents written in Latin or Norman French, if those languages were still in use when "time immemorial" had become firmly associated with this particular date, but wouldn't the date-dependent definition be peculiar to England?
Perhaps it's similar to the fact that while it's easy enough to say "large bag of processed sheep fleece" in most languages, it doesn't follow that such phrases are appropriate translations for "the Woolsack". :) TooManyFingers (talk) 20:39, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
