Taurasi
Italian
editEtymology
editFrom Latin Taurasia, Taurasinus, from Oscan *ταυρο- (*tauro-, “bull”), from Proto-Italic *tauros, with the locative ending -asi. It is unclear whether this name is related to the place of the same name Taurasia founded in northern Italy by the Taurini, whose name could also come from the word for bull (via Celtic).
