edit

From taxonomic translingual Anas (itself from Latin anas (duck), found in the taxonomic names of several duck species, and the brand name Unox, known primarily for their sausages. The brand name Unox here is perhaps a reference to the term soepeend (literally soup duck), a semi-jocular term for domestic ducks: Unox produces various canned and other ready-made soups, and is also particularly known for their rookworst (smoked sausage), a type of sausage that is commonly eaten in soup during the winter in the Netherlands.
