editBy surface analysis, bas- + -kı. Related to Ottoman Turkish باصقی (baskı), attested since atleast 1555 [1]. It is not clear whether it is borrowed directly from Ottoman Turkish or they descend from an unattested etymon. Compare Turkish baskı.
