      Fy Nghyfaill,—Yr ydwyt ar ddechreuad blwyddyn newydd, fel arferol yn disgwyl rhodd oddi wrthyf; ac yn rhwydd mi a roddaf i ti galennig, gan obeithio y gwnai ei ddefnyddio, am y bydd hynny yn sicr o fod yn lleshad i dy gorph a’th enaid.
      My Friend,—As usual at the beginning of a new year, you are expecting a gift from me; and I freely give you a New Year’s present, hoping that you will make use of it, for that will probably be beneficial to your body and soul.
