From Old Galician-Portuguese, from justo +‎ -eza, or possibly from Latin iūstitia.[1] Compare Spanish justeza, Galician and Asturian xusteza, Catalan and Occitan justesa, French justesse, Italian giustezza, Friulian justece. See also justiça, possibly a doublet.
