Usage notes
edit- The sense "second" is only used in compound numerals or in dates (to refer to the second month, i.e. February); the latter use is more often toinen (or simply the name of the month), but both are accepted.
- Interchangeable with toinen (“second”) at the end of an ordinal, i.e. when indicating ones (but not in 12th); toinen is currently more commonly used.
