Usage notes
edit- A day nursery for small children under age 3, or age 4 in the Netherlands, is called crèche or kinderdagverblijf or, in Flanders, kinderkribbe.
- In the Netherlands, kleuterschool was abolished in August 1985 and replaced by primary school (basisschool), which is compulsory already from age 4. However, there is an institution called peuterschool or peuterspeelzaal for children aged 2 to 4.
