editEtymology
editPronunciation
edit- IPA(key): [muːr], [muːɹ̝], [muːə̯], [muː]
- The pronunciations [muːɹ̝], [muːə̯], [muː] are due to English influence, as perhaps is [muːr] with [uː] rather than [uə] (which is not phonemic in English). The spelling mooar possibly suggests a traditional pronunciation of [muəɾ] such the Munster Irish muar /mˠuəɾˠ/, a by-form of Irish mór.
