okej
Esperanto

editEtymology
editBorrowed from English OK (see there for further descendants). Not to be confused with ok (“eight”) or oke (“eighthly”).
Pronunciation
editInterjection
editokej
Usage notes
editThe spelling okej indicates that the stress should be placed on the first syllable, but most people pronounce the word with the stress on the final syllable (as in English). Because of this, okej is frequently proscribed, recommending the spelling o kej instead (or more rarely ho kej). However, okej remains more commonly used.
