Etymology

Borrowed from a Chuvash-type Turkic language before the times of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin (at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries). Compare Bashkir орсоҡ (orsoq, spindle), Uzbek urchuq (spindle).[1]
