Lanham is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Prince George's County, Maryland.[2] As of the 2020 United States Census, it has a population of 11,282.[3] The New Carrollton station (the terminus of the Washington Metro's Orange Line) as well as an Amtrak station are across the Capital Beltway in New Carrollton, Maryland. Doctors Community Hospital is located in Lanham.[4]

History
editThe Thomas J. Calloway House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.[5]

editAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, Lanham has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.2 km2), of which 3.5 square miles (9.1 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2), or 0.54%, is water.[6]
Government and infrastructure
editPrince George's County Police Department District 2 Station in Brock Hall CDP, with a Bowie postal address, serves the community.[7]
The U.S. Postal Service operates the Lanham Seabrook Post Office in Lanham CDP.[8][9]

Lanham first appeared as a census designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census[11] formed from part of the deleted Lanham-Seabrook CDP and part of Mitchellville CDP.[11]
