Power lines leaving the power plant
The switchyard of Hoover Dam power station is situated in the canyon, so the outgoing power lines are installed on electricity pylons, which are built as inclined towers. The design of the towers was chosen due to the ferrous content of the cliffsides; the canyon rock face is metallic enough to arc electricity off the wires were they placed too close. Some of the power lines head west to the Eldorado substation east of Primm, where the lines connect to Path 46.
