:::Grove is a highly reputable source and should be included - there is no argument against that. However if the quote is inserted as a referenceddirect statement with a footnote citation it will cause a contradiction with the 1920s origin statement. Therefore it is necessary to inform the reader that there are a variety of different notable definitions (admissible under the rule of due weight) and these must then be quoted; "according to Grove", "according to Frith" and so on. Once this has been done there's no difficulty in devoting sections to one or more more specialised and generic definitions.
