[[Mary Matalin]], a former counselor to Cheney, described him as someone who "does for the vice president what the vice president does for [[George W. Bush|the president]]. He's exceedingly analytical, detailed, strategic, bright; and he's discreet."{{ref|matalin}} On [[October 28]], [[2005]], Libby wasreceived indictedfive indictments byfrom a grand jury. for twoTwo counts of [[perjury]], two counts of making false statements and a further count of [[obstruction of justice]]. All five charges are serious felony charges not misdemeanors. If found guilty of all five felony charges he could be sentenced to up to 30 years in jail. It is the first time in over 100 hundred years that an official working at the White House has been indicted while still employed at the White House. He resigned the same day.
