'Folktronica' (I'm familiar with the term as a buzz-word bandied about my music journalists, but I had to check the wiki article to work out just what it meant) as a genre seems to be thought to include Beth Orton, Badly Drawn Boy and Bat for Lashes, and thus to have no particular connection with progressive rock; certainly I can find no explicit comparison with prog rock by glancing through the sources cited on its own page.
