Add in how many times each album went Platinum? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.64.243.91 (talkcontribs)

What was "beeped out" in the song WCSR from the "Cocky" Album?

No mention of Joe C.? Doesn't he warrant at least a listing on the former members section?

page is lookin a bit better now :)

"Earlier in his career he performed with a white kid rapper named Joe C, who later died of complications."

Complications of what?!?!

Joe C. died of celiac disease. --Beau99 00:31, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Looks like it was edited by a 4 year old.

Children

I removed his sentence: "They also have a daughter named Liberty" from the section on Kid Rock's personal life because I could find no news article or dependable website confirming this information. Please feel free to add back with citation.

A timeless rock n' roll record

"...Rock said he is attempting to create "a timeless rock n' roll record" so there will be no rap or country on it" -- How does it follow that there will be no rap or country on the album, based on that comment?

if THERES NO CONTRY OR RAPP GOING TO BE ON THAT ALBUM THAN IT WONT BE NEARLY AS GOOD AS HIS PREVIOUS ALBUMS WHERE THERE ALL MIXED UP,BECAUSE ALOT OF HIS FANS LIKE THE FACT THAT HE PUTS RAPPIN WITH REGULAR SINING.I MY SELF DONT GET INTO RAP ALL THAT MUCH,BUT I DO LISTEN TO HIM AN SO DOES MY 61 YEAR OLD MOTHER AN MY 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.SO THAT TELLS ME HE OUGHT TO LEAVE THINGS THE WAY THEYER GOING AN NOT CHANGE.THATS JUST MY OPIPION. BETH MADDEN BESIDES THE FACT HES HANDSOME AN AS SEXY AS EVER. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.63.208.153 (talkcontribs) 17:22, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Outspoken political views

"Kid Rock is also unique among musical artists of his genre as he has outspoken political views." - How does that make him unique?

I'd suggest the only thing "unique" is that he tends to support right wing causes, while others are to the Left...

Kid Rock in Relationships

Hello,

Kid Rock in Relationships is meant to give the visitor a wide angle view of how Kid Rock handles his relationships in essence and in practice. It also allows the visitors to examine the characteristics of their own relationships with Kid Rock.

Both content and test are based on sound astrological knowledge and research and they gained popularity among web surfers.

I believe that even though Astrology is not considered a mainstream science, these knowledge and compatibility tool should be made available to whomever wishes to study Kid Rock as broadly as possible.

I have no desire to be considered a spammer and I don't want to force Top Synergy on the authors of Kid Rock's article.

I ask you, authors of Kid Rock that if you have an objection to placing a link to Kid Rock in Relationships in the External Links section, please write it here. Else, I’ll place the link hoping that it would be a valid resource for Kid Rock's fans and researchers.

With appreciation, Midas touch 08:52, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

What the... Is this a serious site? -mrbartjens 15:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I dont understand...i added a section commenting on the success of Kid Rocks genre-hopping and reasons for his limited success outside of the USA, i'm not a regular user but i dont see why that was not considered as a valuble contribution?

I have a question for anyone who may agree or disagree with me. Kid rock in his music always talking about how he had a hard life, but the fact is he choice to live in ghetto. His Father I believe own two cars sale places in Mich and he was no poor kid.

Dose anyone know his ethnic hertiage ? richie sound like could be english even irish or scotish. Those last name do not mean much here in usa. So many dam mutts out there like myself. lol

fanboyish

"Kid Rock's talent can be illustrated by the fact he is credited on his albums for not only vocals, but guitar (steel, rhythm, electric and acoustic), bass, percussion, mixing, mellotron, keyboard, backing vocals, slide guitar, scratching, programming, producer, and even banjo. He is famous for his high-energy personality on and off stage. Kid Rock's music has evolved considerably over time, which has caused him to lose and gain millions of fans."

need i say more? i would fix it up, but it's late and i'm tired. pity. Joeyramoney 06:34, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree, the entire section seems a bit biased. The truth is that Kid Rock today is thought of as an unintellectual person with no worth musically whatsoever. I've heard only negative references about him, and it's been a LONG time since I ever met a Kid Rock fan. I suggest this article be adjusted to point out that he is, in general, despised by the populace. I'd do it myself right now but I have no sources handy, even though it is generally known that he is disliked. EndTasked 18:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

"Generally known" is not quite good enough for an encyclopedia. Have you come up with a reference yet? -- Mikeblas 15:10, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Im a fan...and I'm ridiculed right left and centre...this article has got a lot shorter, some of these no good 'haters' have gone over the top with the clean up. i would update it but I've got to milk my cow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.179.121.233 (talkcontribs)

It should get even shorter, if you ask me, as so little is referenced. -- Mikeblas 10:17, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Sources on CMU?

Can someone provide me sources on some of the stuff related to CMU in the article? I'm not challenging the veracity of any of it, but as a student at CMU, I'd like to find out more. --Bveale 16:11, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I've added a citeneeded tag. I can't find any mention of it searchin' the web, and I'm afraid it seems unlikely to find anything because it was s olong ago and a small fine. Maybe someone else has a lead on it. -- Mikeblas 15:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

HOW DO YOU CHANGE PICTURE CAPTIONS? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodnuts (talkcontribs) 00:30, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

No need to SHOUT, Rodnuts! —QuicksilverT @ 01:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Arrest?

The picture caption mentions his 2005 arrest. The article has no info whatsoever on an arrest record. Could someone supply a section on his legal travails?

--Rodnuts 00:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)RODNUTS - 8:31PM EST

I've provided a link to a news story about his most recent arrest. -- Mikeblas 14:56, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Other Appearances section

I've been trying to clean up the article, but I'm not really sure what to do with the "Other appearances" section. Most of these items don't explain Kid's role in the "other appearance", and some don't even provide any information about the release besides a title. Would there be any objection to deleting the section outright? Is there a way to clean it up properly? -- Mikeblas 15:08, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Joe C Member or Former Member

I'm not sure Joe C should be listed as a former member everyone else in that section left or was asked to leave. It's seems like he should get list in his own section maybe Deceased Members or he should be listed in Members Section as Joe C (Vocals)(Deceased). My reasoning is that Joe C is still listed as member on Kid Rocks site and that he never left the band he died so he doesn't seem to fit in the former members section. Any thoughts? Rainer1 21:54, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I get what you are saying but I think it would be dishonest to say that. It is cool that Kid Rock is doing that for a memorial but for article purposes, he is a former member. If you want to create deceased in honer of him, go right ahead. I see no problem (nor should anybody else) with created a deceased profile and listing his name under it. 24.205.50.155 08:29, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Barbara Bush

"Rock's lyrics for "Pimp of the Nation," which mention "pimpin' Barbara Bush," either the President's mother or daughter" Well, the song came out in 1990, and W didn't get into office until 11 years later, so I think it's safe to assume he was talking about the (at the time) first lady. Also, W's daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush, would have been 9 at the time, so the suggestion would be a little slanderous. I modified it. --ScarletSpiderDave 09:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Question

Now, Kid Rock has always made bad music. This really is fact, although, for the sake of being convivial, I'll say it's opinion (the laws of physics seem to revile his music.) Anyway, has he always been a rightwing dude? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.190.230.57 (talk) 17:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

The following sounds as if it was written by his publicist, and it's unattributed. I've deleted it, but someone keeps putting it back:

November 2, 2006 NEWS: Kid Rock talks in Detroit Free Press!

With his three-month wedding tour wrapped up, Rock is turning his attention to his new album, recorded at his home studio in Ortonville and crafted with advice from illustrious rock producer Rick Rubin.

He’s nearly finished with basic instrumentation for the album, due in February, and is ready to head to New Orleans or “somewhere cool to hole up and just do vocals, vocals, vocals.”

He describes the material as big, red-blooded rock ’n’ roll, referencing Van Halen and the Rolling Stones — “stadium rock to the bone.”

“It’s current, up-to-date, fresh,” he says, “but it’s not reinventing the wheel.”

Among the new songs is a tribute to New Orleans — with drum machine, banjo and slide guitar — for which he hopes to enlist 78-year-old boogie woogie icon Fats Domino on vocals. ----

Vandalized initial paragraph

I would have fixed the horrible mess of the first paragraph if I could find an edit link that got me in there. Every one I've tried skips that part.

yeh i had the same problem, thank sfor getting rid of that stupid first paragraph though, beat me to it by a few seconds.

Apology

I apologize for the recent vandalism on 12-10-06. Someone else was using my computer and screwed with it. I figured if I blanked the page a bot would fix it and it did. Again, my apologies.

Bobby East error

In the former members section, I see Bobby East. The link is actually to the race car driver. I don't believe that Bobby East was a member. If he was, then his article should reflect that. 24.205.50.155 08:34, 16 January 2007 (UTC) -He was a member he was in Hemigod which disbanded this year when he was with the group he had the long 80s hair band hair. He played Mellotron and Slide Gutair on Kid Rock if you read the credits for the album, he's won several detroit music awards for his gutair instumentals,

Article needs work

For example:

"Growing up, Ritchie sucked up on his father, a well-to-do car dealer in the area, frequently disagreed over young Ritchie's lifestyle choices. Following a lawn mower accident that resulted in his brother, Billy, losing a leg, his father shifted the burden of holding down the house and all the responsibilty of his brother on to young Robert (as related by the song My Oedipus Complex). This led to increased friction between the two."

This first paragraph is a mess, and needs to be reworded to be professional and factual. I suspect some responsible people have done good work on this article, and then it's been vandalized.

I was at a Kid Rock concert and was impressed by his apparent ability to play every instrument in the band. It would be nice to see a list of what instruments he's proficient in if that's available.

166.34.148.192 21:32, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I've reworked the article significantly today, although some sections still require attention. ObtuseAngle 21:51, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Libel?

"During the recording sessions he meet Jimmie Bones, who at the time was cutting a record with Robert Bradley's Blackwater Suprise. Kid asked Bones to jam on some recordings. Disgusted with Mr. Richies offer, Bones began to urinate in Kid's direction. Eager to please, Kid opened his lips to recieve Bone's sacrement."

I was wondering if there was a source for this section?- some doose edited i put it back to what it is now go to jimmiebones.net you will find the article their

Can anyone add a reference to his appearance in "CSI: NY" episode "All Access"?- Why it was on tv that all the referencing you need

Major list cleanup is needed

In my opinion: most of the information after awards is list clutter. It needs a much better formatting or should just be removed. Long bulleted lists aren't very useful, when the article is cluttered with them. RobJ1981 18:43, 6 April 2007 (UTC)- It looks fine to me since I Did it, its the same way Aerosmith's is this page sucked before I Change it.
