What does Dab mean?
Disambiguation, pointing to a page that precisely reflects the intention of the writer. I monitor a number of ambiguous pages for incoming links (using wikipedia:what links here) and disambiguate or dab them. In my edit I put dab <ambiguous word>. Oh, and sometimes I change a few other things while I'm there - adding categories, fixing obvious spelling errors and typos, etc. But generally I only came to disambiguate a single word.

Books and category cleanup
Alright after an epic Cfd, category cleanup is now possible. Could WildBot
- Remove all categories found in user books
- Remove Category:Wikipedia books from community books
- Check if community books are categorized. If they aren't after the cleanup (and forgetting categories added by templates), add Category:Wikipedia books (books without categories)
Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 04:05, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- So, for User remove any [[Category:xxx] links, and for and Community remove Category:Wikipedia books, and if a Community book has no categories, add that one above.
- Give me a couple of days. Josh Parris 04:13, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Rote Hilfe
When you get back to Wikipedia, it would be great to get the dab template removed from this article's talk page. Thanks in advance. Marrante (talk) 07:45, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Started poll for SRAG trial.
I just started a poll for the SRAG trial run. It looks like there won't be many of us weighing in, but that reflects the small amount of editors would be recruited so I don't know if we should be too concerned. I think that, in the future, we might want to follow the BAG approach of having the requester do the canvassing to make sure that they aren't waiting on us to do it. --EpochFail(talk|work) 15:07, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
BAGBot: Your bot request WildBot 7
Someone has marked Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/WildBot 7 as needing your input. Please visit that page to reply to the requests. Thanks! AnomieBOT⚡ 15:52, 13 June 2010 (UTC) To opt out of these notifications, place {{bots|optout=operatorassistanceneeded}} anywhere on this page.
Is autoupdating running?
Hi,
I've been fixing a couple of things listed on Talk:Participants in World War II.
Wildbot last updated that page in May although one or more disams have occurred since then.
Is there an issue at present?
Cheers, Varlaam (talk) 05:19, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Also, Wildbot used to display when it last updated. Has that information been suppressed?
- Ditto for the Kodak_EasyShare_DX6490 page. Flagged by WildBot 2010-05-26, and disambiguous links sorted on 2010-06-02. Scottmacpherson (talk) 10:52, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
7Series
Hey Josh - I know you're busy, but I was doing some tests
- On the page User:Bwilkins/test, when I G7'd it, the bot didn't even glance at it. When I U1'd it, same thing.
- On the page User talk:Bwilkins/test, G7 gave me "unhandled exception" and U1 said I had non-bot, non-owner contribs.
- I then created Talk:Oubie and G7'd it: unhandled exception.
I know I had to reinstall everything from scratch ... did I miss something somewhere? 7SeriesBOT (talk) 16:27, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
SRAG | Recruitment Issues
Hello Josh! I have left you here this message:
- Thinking about it more and also reading this discussion, I am not sure if private messaging would be the better way for a first contact. What do you think?
Would be nice if you replied on the SRAG page. Thanks in advance! --Jojoona (talk) 12:04, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
WildBot appears to be stopped
According to its Contributions page, WildBot has done nothing since July 7, 2010. What gives? (Please respond here.) Many thanks, HairyWombat (talk) 22:14, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Should we remove the Bot tags ourselves?
If we've made the changes needed, should we wait until WildBot returns, or should we go ahead and remove the tags ourselves? Thanks, Aristophanes68 (talk) 03:25, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- As it is unclear for how long WildBot will be offline, I intend to remove the tags manually (so that other editors do not waste time trying to fix problems that no longer exist), but will also add "{{User:WildBot/tag}}" (so that when WildBot comes back online it will come by and check).
