Hey Lisa. I'm getting started on clearing out the huge backlog at WP:ANRFC and this particular discussion has been hanging around for a while. I'm not super familiar with the technical work of templates like these ones, and so the discussion is a little beyond me. It was recommend here that a template editor should evaluate the discussion to see if it requires closure or any particular actions. Is there any chance you might be able to look it over and let me know what your conclusions are? Thanks, I, JethroBT drop me a line 20:02, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, JethroBT
There is nothing that can be done because there is very little in the way of consensus. {{Citation}} is part of Wikipedia's arcana. Touching it surely upsets everyone in the universe; therefore, it is unwise to do it without strong consensus.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 00:20, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
@I JethroBT: I have concluded that there was no consensus to use Module:Citation/CS1 to implement the citation template Oh, careless! Careless! I must have definitely used the phrase "suicide wish"! Oh, you mentioned my name too; they'll come to kill me!
Look, the discussion is not about implementing "Module:Citation/CS1" in the template; it is already implemented. Just cut the long-winded comment and say there is no strong consensus to perform anything explicitly.
Best regards,

Let me hastily revise... I, JethroBT drop me a line 01:13, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Alright, fire's put out. The proposal for the RfC suggested that it had not been implemented yet, which is why I chose the phrasing I did, but I obviously misread something. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I, JethroBT drop me a line 01:21, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Comparison of disk cloning software, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages HFS and UFS. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sorry

Sorry but I do not know why this picture suddenly went not quality. Please upload another version of this picture that I made. Strange how when I made my picture it was quality-ish, but when I posted on the Wikipedia it didn't. Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 06:21, 22 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Microsoft Security Essentials

Hi, Codename Lisa, why is the logo missing on the en:wikipedia? Lotje (talk) 09:37, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Lotje: Hi. What exactly are you talking about? First, it is not missing. (Your link is alive and working.) Second, it is not a logo.; (It is a text that says "Microsoft Security Essentials".)
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 09:40, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
I meant it doesn't show it's a Wordmark and thus registered, making it a protected intellectual property, or isn't it?   Lotje (talk) 09:49, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Lotje: As far copyright laws concerns, it is text alone and therefore not eligible for copyright protection. So, no, it is not a protected intellectual property. Trademark laws do protect it, but as long as you don't say "it is my product" you are okay. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 09:55, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

TemplateData

Hi Codename Lisa,

Would you be interested in helping Marielle for the next six weeks with a mentorship project to help teenage students create TemplateData? Some information about the work and the sign-up process is is available here: mw:Google Code-in 2014#Mentors' corner. Mostly what's required is showing a few young people how to create TemplateData. The new volunteers we've had on similar projects in the past have proven to be pretty good, and several of them stuck around and kept working on it after the program officially ended.

Marielle doesn't think she can do this by herself, but she'd really like to have this added to the list. When the talk turned to great editors with both the technical and social skills to be successful mentors, I thought of you first. I know it's super-short notice, but I really hope you will be able to help out with this. (Andre can help you if you have any questions; he's the main organizer. Otherwise, you can just leave a note for Marielle—maybe at her MediaWiki.org talk page, since she's usually easier to find over there.) Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 14:59, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

That would be cool indeed! --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 15:21, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Whatamidoing (WMF) and AKlapper (WMF): Hi. I have many questions. I start with two.
First, what kind of Internet connection am I supposed to have? Am I supposed to spend hours in a live audio and video session? Or is my participation forum-like, i.e. asynchronous responses? Or is it something in between, like IRC? (Please explain the nature.)
Second, I have read the article to which you linked but I still don't have a picture. Can I know more?
As for my answer, it is definitely a "yes". All my life, I was afraid of social situations, teamwork and teaching. Signing up with Wikipedia and nominating an article for Featured Article shortly thereafter was a colossal step for me; it appears God really favors the bold. Right now, I am both excited and sweating. I am telling you this so that there is no doubt about who you are dealing with.
Best regards,
