This page has an administrative backlog that requires the attention of willing administrators. Please replace this notice with {{no admin backlog}} when the backlog is cleared.
If you've been blocked as an open proxy, please see Help:blocked.
The multiwiki MetaProject on open proxies seeks to enforce the prohibition against editing from open or anonymising proxies by identifying, verifying, and indefinitely blocking open proxies and anonymity network exit nodes. To prevent abuse or vandalism, only proxy checks by verified users will be accepted. All users are welcome to discuss on the talk page, report possible proxies, or request that a blocked IP be rescanned.
Please report IP addresses you suspect are open proxies below. A project member will scan or attempt to connect to the proxy, and if confirmed will indefinitely block the address. IPs blocked on Wikipedia but not on other wikis should be moved to the MetaProject. Please use this format:
A user wrote on the talk page: "This IP address is not an open proxy; please email rachel.craggs@gcapmedia.com or lucy.horobin@gcapmedia.com or ed.nell@gcapmedia.com if you wish to discuss this block; it was wrong and this IP address is shared."Jesse Viviano03:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A user writes on the talk page: "This is NOT an open proxy, nor is it a zombie computer, although it was a zombie computer about 5 months ago. Please unblock." Please note the (removed) formatting and (kept) phraseology similarities to 217.196.69.199.
Now I´m on a proxy, to get this message to you. This is my account, it can´t be abused, no vandalism on the contribution page. Unblock it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.225.87.112 (talk • contribs) 03:33, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
A user writes on the talk page: "This is not an open proxy. It is an internet cafe in Charing Cross Road, Central London."
VCN says not a proxy, but CBL just relisted it yesterday at 6pm...so I suspect people with infected laptops keep logging into the wifi. Not sure how we want to handle it. Syrthiss13:59, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A user writes on the talk page: "I foolishly ran Tor server a while back to experiment with the concepts behind it. Since I'm no longer part of the network, I'd like to be unblacked." [sic]
A user writes on the talk page: " please unblock me. that's the ip i'm using not a zomby proxy. please have mercy on a simple user who's trying to enhance the free encyclopedia for the good of all mankind."
On User talk:Kashk, the user writes: "Seem to be blocked because the IP "134.83.1.225" is apparently recognised as open proxy, but it is infact the Brunel University network..."
A user writes on the talk page: " hey, unblock me. this is outrageous. this is no zombie, bonie or other walking dead ip. it's MY ip. please someone see to that. i also expect additional apologies."
On the anon talk page the user writes: "As usual Wikipedia is not only misinformation, but also misaction by the users of wp. This ip adress was for one contribution abused by the yahoo vandal. But in the end it´s my account. Wikipedia software is defect. UNBLOCK THIS IP ADRESS !!"

Proxies that do not seem to be open or anonymity network exit nodes should be listed here, rechecked at various times, and removed if still not conclusive.
Proxies that are proven to be open or exit nodes for an anonymity network should be blocked on the English Wikipedia, then should be moved to the "Blocked" section. Please strip notes not directly useful to a globally blocking administrator, or to a future rechecking administrator (signatures and templates are not necessary).
These requests are confirmed to be no longer open or anonymity network exit nodes. Once unblocked and the open proxy tag removed from their user pages, they should be moved to "Unblocked" below or posted directly to the MetaProject. Please strip notes not directly useful to a globally blocking administrator, or to a future rechecking administrator (signatures and templates are not necessary).
