The Leaders' Debates Commission is a Canadian government body charged with organizing and holding two debates between the leaders of eligible political parties during a federal election. The commission is required to hold one debate in each of Canada's official language (English and French).[1] David Johnston, former Govenor Generall of Canada, is the commissioner.[2] The body also has an advisory board made up of former politicians, an academic, journalist, and a former judge.[3]
