ALVIN WOOD
editAlvin Wood was an early settler to the area that is now the north central part of Jefferson County Kentucky. He is credited with naming the community of Lyndon,Ky[1] in 1871. The railroad bordered his land. Mr. Wood built a depot so people could catch the train without traveling to St. Matthews Kentucky which is several miles away. He called the depot Lyndon. Today a street in Lyndon bears the name Wood Road after the Wood family who owned the area. This road is mainly residential but it also contains The Lyndon City Hall and Yeager Education Center.
