Redbank Plains State High School

edit

I can see why you asked the question about sources. I made a minor error - unsourced is probably not the best summary of why I removed your contributions. First the link to the blog is misplaced and not appropriate to include anywhere on the page because it is a blog. Second I saw the link to the unreliable blog and the previous reversion summary by User:Viewmont Viking as unsourced and followed their lead. Offline books are difficult to verify as you can imagine. I have three other concerns. Is the school's inclusion in an obscure book significant? Are you here to promote a book or to build an encyclopedia? If you are the author of the book there is definitely a conflict of interest. - Shiftchange (talk) 23:41, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Clarification

edit

Thanks for the clarification, I have a better understanding of your position now. Viewmont Viking correctly marked the page as unsourced as I did not include a citation, which I corrected in the subsequent edit. I did not think that linking to the official blog was a conflict of interest, apologies. It's the first time the suburb or the school is mentioned in a book anywhere. The school producing an author and being the setting of a book is an achievement of note, it is fairly common for wiki's on schools to include anyone or anything of note they have produced eg Yale [1]. Would it help if I removed the reference to the blog and include a scanned copy of the page from the book? AuthorAhTea (talk) 01:19, 9 December 2014 (UTC)AuthorAhTeaReply
