"P.S. Have you been directly affected (e.g., blocked) due to 70.88.161.146's vandalism? Sango123"

remember this? well yes i have been affected! I can't edit when some idiot across the room is vandalising just to piss me off and then he gets the ip blocked! Dog Eat Dog World 01:27, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

(see above)Dog Eat Dog World 01:27, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

No I don't rembeber this. Can you better explain the situation?--Commander Keane 06:05, 16 February 2006 (UTC) well since my school shares an ip adress when people vandalize to the point that they get blocked i can't use (or edit) wikipedia constructivly and this really annoys me because i have to wait to get back on! and i REVERT vandalism. Dog Eat Dog World 14:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC) so plz unblock, it is still blocked until like 5:00pm today! and it's only 8:00am! Dog Eat Dog World 14:39, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

It is a tricky situation, becasue unblocking the IP may result in more vandalism. You need to speak with the blocking admin (probably via email if you are blocked). If you do speak to them, make sure you copy the whole block message, and include your IP.--Commander Keane 15:05, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Have you followed Commander Keane's suggestion and contacted the blocking admin? --pgk(talk) 21:41, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

yes i saw he was on vacation so thats no help. Thrawst 21:47, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm that's most odd, since his page says he's on vacation from tomorrow and he's been editting wikipedia in the last few minutes. --pgk(talk) 21:54, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well i need to be unblocked please Thrawst 22:01, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Dustin Kelm, Extreme Unicyclist.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 09:55, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh geez i have completely forgotten about that picture, ummmm... i cant even begin to remember where i got it, so i don't think you'll be getting any copyright information, expect to delete that photo, sorry about that Thrawst 05:05, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging for Image:Rubiks-clock.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rubiks-clock.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image Tagging Image:Profcube1.jpg

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Profcube1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. SteinbDJ 15:09, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

My Images

edit

Just delete them all, i have completely forgotten wherere i got them, i try googling them, and i don't get the same results. If i can be warned about this sooner in the future that would be helpful, sorry for all the copyright trouble i've caused Thrawst 04:35, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

What would it take?

edit

What would it take to upload bunches of screenshot images from google earth, im thinking of maybe adding rough maps of locations to articles that don't have maps. Ask more about it if you want to know more or if you have any information on how i could do this and if there would be any restrictions (i.e. copyright, which you guys seem to have been cracking down on a lot lately), or if you think its a bad idea just say so.
